Haunted History BC – Second Date SOLD OUT https://notoriousgreyfox.com/haunted-history-bc-second-date-sold-out/ Fri, 13 Feb 2026 06:23:22 +0000 https://notoriousgreyfox.com/?p=23279 Hello friends! Our first event @notoriousgreyfox sold out quickly so we opened up a second date. Join us Saturday, March 28 from 5pm-8pm for paranormal night at the Pen.

Known as the “Gentleman Bandit,” Bill Miner was a notorious stagecoach and train robber.

After serving multiple prison terms in the U.S., he moved to British Columbia and is believed to have orchestrated Canada’s first train robbery in 1904 near Silverdale. After a botched 1906 robbery near Kamloops, he was caught and sentenced to the B.C. Penitentiary and spent time at this iconic New Westminster location. He famously and mysteriously escaped in 1907.

It was said that as he was being transported to the BC Pen, he had a huge group following as people gathered on the train platforms to see a glimpse of this likeable outlaw nicknamed The Grey Fox.

Billy was famously polite during his heists and is widely credited with coining the phrase “Hands up!” Though he had guns, he always instructed his cohorts, ‘never to shoot a man’ during his robberies.

To hear more exciting history about the BC Penitentiary, the BC Penitentiary Cemetery and some of the ghostly tales, join us @notoriousgreyfox

We’ll share thrilling and chilling stories in the first hour while you grab a bite to eat . Then, you will be able to roam the building and grounds in search of potential paranormal activity. Does anyone or anything still linger here from the past? Let’s find out. We will supply the paranormal equipment for guests to borrow. And by all means, if you have ghost hunting gear, you are welcome to bring it!
